In 17 years of ballet, I learned to be aware of every muscle in my body, including the ones on my face.

I never frown or squint, because these repeated expressions cause the muscles to contract and the skin to fold, leading to wrinkles. (I smile though, a lot. Don’t worry 😁)

So when I’m stressed, I try not to show it on my face. Instead, I talk to someone close, I get a massage - I find healthy ways to release those thoughts and worries and to get that negative energy out of my system✨

On a more serious note, I have indeed been very good this year. I continued to work hard, reached a few major milestones, ended many relationships and “friendships” that weren’t serving anyone anymore.

I also created a Personal Development course that I taught at the university to the students in the master program, because I want to help people reach their potential and live more joyful lives. I’ll be organizing a free webinar soon to bring it to a larger audience ✨

A few years ago, I was going through a period where it was hard for me to express my creativity - because I had just become a mother, because I thought I was in the wrong place, and most importantly because I hadn’t found my voice yet.

I turned 34 a few days ago and on my birthday I always take a look at my balance sheet as a person. For the first time in many years, I felt like I had only “assets” and no “liabilities” 💫

I spent my birthday working on an Action Feature Film, as the Lead Actress - one of my biggest dreams came true. It made me think of how far I’ve come from the days when I used to wake up at midnight, drive to the office for an Accents & Dialects online class with Anastasia Wilson @anastasia.wil at DramaInc @dramaincatl from 1am to 4am, drive back home, get woken up by my daughter at 5:30am, work all day at the office, then go to the theatre for rehearsal. 🎭

Seeing the results of years of relentless pursuit of my passion is deeply fulfilling. I’m grateful for all the wonderful people I’ve met and I’m excited to keep growing and learning as a filmmaker. 🎬

On the one hand I’m thinking: “This is great. I can get into character immediately. No need to stay in character all day long, feeling those negative emotions. Maybe this is what talent is.”

The depths of fighting are about knowledge and self-knowledge, a method of examining my own life and motives. Fighting is much more about the self than the other.

… most of the roles I’ve played in the last couple of years were of weak women, crying, getting shot, dying, suffering. This is not bad. I’m glad that everything I went through can now serve a higher purpose of creation. But at a certain point, I said No to an offer, even though the script was good. A part of me just wanted the woman on the screen to be like the woman in me: strong and fearless.
